We show you how both the quarters in the former centre of East Berlin in the last 25 years has changed. Here the luxurious Mitte with its chic shops and local scene and a prosperous agency, fashion and startup scene, since there something quieter, but equally as popular about Prenzlauer Berg, with its many beautiful cafés to spend time in.

Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte, both former East Berlin centre districts, that have experienced a swift transformation. Where the club scene was once bustling, today has been replaced by chic clothes shops and restaurants, as well as plenty of people visiting Berlin. We show you new and old Berlin, how we’ve got to know it and how it is today.

Our guides witnessed the wild time during the 90s and 00s, when everything here in Mitte was possible and on every corner a new scene was beginning. The rent was extremely cheap and quickly developed into a vibrant art and club scene. The legendary techno clubs originated here, like Tresor, E-Werk or Cookies, which have characterised the ongoing nightlife here in the city. Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg were at the heart of Berlin, and many young people were drawn in by enjoying the unique flare here. Prenzlauer Berg established the alternative scene and the district with its wonderful old buildings that were popular with young people, as well as many of the smaller clubs and bars that still exist today.
