BIG BERLIN WALL BIKE TOUR
Experience the history of the construction and fall of the Berlin Wall first hand with our tour!
25 years since the fall of the wall. We tell you the story of the construction, how it came about and what effects this had on the people of Berlin on both sides of the city, and the surprising day and evening of the fall of the wall. Our guides Joachim, Jochen and Heinz all experienced this day, as the border opened up. They were some of the first to cross the way between East and West Berlin. A one time experience they will surely tell you about.
We look back at the formation of the GDR and the time of the construction of the Wall and describe the effects that this had on the people in Berlin and Germany. Berlin, the divided city was the centre and location of the Cold War. Which fates took place and how the big powers of the USA and the Soviet Union reacted to these events. How the turning point came about and through what fortunate circumstances came the fall of the Wall. Our tour guides were there when the wall opened. In addition, they will tell you about the exciting events which followed in Berlin, like the Wrapped Reichstag by Christo and Jean Claude, and the mild summer’s nights in front of it, the Stones concert at Wuhlheide, and the legendary Pink Floyd concert “The Wall” at Potsdamer Platz. A crazy but fascinating time with many kinds of changes for Berlin and the people that lived here. A guided bike tour in Berlin with a lasting impression.
Accompany us along 18 kilometres of the former inner city of Berlin. We show you relics, memorials and almost forgotten places of the division of Berlin.
