Berlin is increasingly becoming the craft beer Capital of Europe. Besides Stone Brew, one of the most famous craft beer breweries in America, which has settled in Marienfelde (to supply the european market from here), there are plenty of smaller Berlin breweries that specialize in the production of craft beers. Among the best known is the Brauhaus Lemke, whose brewery is located in the center of Berlin in the old S-Bahn arches between Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz. This is our first stop on our guided bike tour through Berlin. Here we take a look into the new brewery and learn interesting facts about of the 6 Craft beers brewed here. And after all the theory it is now time to taste. 6 x 0.1 liters wait for us to get to know the variety of the new brewing culture.

Woody – the wood bike

As a special highlight you have the opportunity on this bike tour to choose between our unique wooden bike “Woody” from coco mat or our traditional city bike from Triumph. “Woody” is a real eye-catcher. You’ll enjoy cruising with this design object through the city.

By bike from east to west

From our starting point on Leipziger Straße, we will first explore the eastern part of the city with all its tourist attractions in Berlin Mitte: Gendarmenmarkt, Nikolai quarter, Museum island and many more. After our stop at the Brauhaus Lemke and a first small beer tasting it goes through the scene and fashion district around the Hackescher Markt. In the Scheunenviertel next door, old Berlin charms meet on agency and gallery scene. A really nice mix. We know the neighborhood pretty well and show you the trendy shops, cafés and bars, which you can explore during your further stay in Berlin then. From here it is only a small piece along the Spree to the government quarter, with its top attractions Reichstag and the chancellery.

Green round through the Tiergarten with a relaxed beer garden visit

Then it turns green. We discover the Tiergarten with its lively 500-year history. A true recreation paradise in the middle of the city with many small gardens, alleys, canals and lots of monuments. Past the Siegessäule and the Bismarck Memorial we drive through the facility for the Building Exhibition 1957 – the Hansaviertel, a must for all lovers of architecture. After so much impressions it is time for a little refreshment in the beer garden. Besides delicious Berlin craft beer, there is also a variety of original Berlin dishes. A real secret tip.

More beer?

Well strengthened we make our way back through the western part of the Tiergarten and the adjacent embassy district, past the Holocaust Memorial direction Gendarmenmarkt. And if you want to strengthen yourself with 1-2 more beers, you can do that after we have parked our bicycles.

Alternative craft beer route:

Spoiled for choice. Of course, there are lots of ways to explore the city by bike and enjoy some delicious craft beers. So it is also worthwhile to visit the Gleisdreieck Park with the Brlo beer garden and continue to Kreuzberg, where a lot of smaller craft beer bars await us.
